Someone stole my idea!

Last week I wrote this:-

Unfortunately most sites don’t have a nice browse function, even in Browse Entire Catalogue, you often only see twenty titles at once, like a Google search. If you just wanted to explore, wouldn’t it be great to have a picture of a bookshelf, click on the spine and see the cover, click on the cover and see the blurb? I have no trouble finding books to read in a physical library!!

Have a look at the catalogue of the Oakville Public Library in Canada. When you’ve searched for and found a book, you can click on the title and along with more info about the book comes a link at the side to “Browse the shelf”. You can look and see what’s on the shelf next to the one you were interested in! When will we be able to do this in small school libraries?
